Questions, answered clearly.

Key details for registering and managing a DeName on Stellar.

Why do I need to sign two transactions?

Registration uses two wallet signatures to protect the DeName you chose. The first creates a cryptographic commitment without revealing the exact DeName. The second confirms the DeName and payment after that commitment is recorded. This prevents another person from seeing your request and registering the same DeName first.

Can I choose any zone?

You can register in any zone shown as available in the app. Zone owners choose their own registration terms, including price, payment asset and duration options.

What address does my DeName open?

Your DeName resolves to the Stellar or Soroban address you set in its records. You stay in control of that address while you own the DeName.

Why do I need Set name and Set primary?

Set name is the connection from a DeName to an address. It lets anyone resolve that DeName with getAddress. Set primary is the connection in the other direction: the wallet that controls the address selects one connected DeName for getName. This second confirmation prevents someone else from assigning a DeName to your address and making it appear as your primary DeName.
